i need some waterproof trainer type shoes ..knowing my luck it will chuck it down when we do it...obviously they need to be good for cycling and walking...and i aint biking up those big hills !!!!!

I have these shoes, Shimano SH-M 020 and very good too, lightweight. But being mesh, will not be waterproof. If you want waterproof shoes, then you need MT-90 which are Gore-Tex and cost a ton. But the Seal-Skin socks would overcome this problem or try overshoes.

What I also like about the 020 is you can either have the cleats on or off. I prefer the former.

If you prefer something more chunkier. I have the Shimano SH-M 037, which is a good MTB shoe.

Don't ride in normal trainer's, Too much flexing and you suffer for it.

what type of pedals are you using?do you have flats ?ifso i would change em to an spd type,there unmeasurabley better
