It's that time of the year, Xmas & New Year out of the way. Planning the hols and making routes and getting on bike is a chore. Been naff weather lately and Spring is still a long way off. I've a Turbo-Roller, but that can be boring after a while. Still the best I do is the cycling to work and back, totalling average 50 miles a week. But really need to get out and do the 50 miles in day.

Are we Teessider's starting look like this chappie, I for one not likely.

agileman, how many miles you reckon you ride each year?must be canny few.i used to ride to work but it meant gettin up at 5am to ride 11 miles along hadrian cycle ride thaen back at 9pm after 14 hours with folks with severe challenging behaviour with no tea break.i remember using bike once while on nights and having to get off on way back on 3rd night 2 miles from home ,i sat on seat outside stocksfield cricket club and fell asleep to be woken by my dad at 11 o clock!must have been there over 3 hours, luck had my legs over bike so it went nicked.

Reckon the average between 4000 & 5000 miles a year. With 2 major bike rides and back to Sunday rides doing hopefully 60-70 miles, should bump it to 6000+ miles. I was going to plan a walk in Spring, but may shelve it for cycling and have a good cycling year to boot. So could be 3 tours, it that being greedy.
