Again, on the Memory-Map and came across a decent ride for June hols. Seeing that I'm going to the York Cycle Show for the Fri/Sat/Sun, I might be pushing it heading to the Lakes and back for York. Probably do the C2C on a long week-end instead.

So I thought of this one, head off down the Esk Valley to Whitby, then down the Yorkshire Coastline to Hornsea. Do the Hornsea Trail to Hessle, pick up the White Rose Cycle route. Thru York and northwards to Teesside, back home for change of gear and bike, with bit of luck get to York for the Friday. Hope to get a Dawes Giro 400 and sell the road bike I have at the moment.

Looks a bit easier to cycle.

Bloody hell Shocked what's the mileage count on that???.

I've got a ride from Stokesley - Whitby and back in the summer if you're interested? 62 miles round trip thru the NYM basically following the Esk. Best suited to road/tourers but MTB's welcome.

The trip is roughly 240 miles. What I intend to do is pick up the W2W at Hornby, then to Whitby for 1st night. 2nd night Hornsea, 3rd night Naburn Lock and 4th night Osmotherley, then back to Stockton.

I will be camping. Although the hard bit will the 1st day down the Esk Valley and should be easy going once I get past Scarborough and Hull. After York I have 2 choices that I could go thru Kilburn and tackle the White Horse Bank or chicken out to Northallerton.

Denny, let me know when you will be doing the 62 mile down the Esk Valley. I'll plug a date in. I live in Stockton on Tees and do have a road bike.
