Got to Whitehaven mid afternoon so decided to do a few miles to get us on our way. Stayed at Ennerdale Youth Hostel approx 5 miles off route but well worth the de-tour. fantastic scenery and away from it all. great ride along the path along the side of the lake. Excellent hospitallity, food, beer and great like minded (out door people) staying there.

Stayed at Aldernay B & B in Penrith and the Miners Arms at Nenthead, both excellent.
