Rucksack or Panniers for 1stTimer on the C2C

I would definitely recommend panniers. You can get some pretty good lightweight pannier racks and panniers on Ebay. It means you're keeping the weight lower down which makes things more manageable and far more comfortable than lugging it on your back. If you are B&B-ing you could probably get away with just rear panniers and maybe a bar bag.

ive read that its possible to get a light pannier/rucksack thats multu purpose ie either the bike carries it where its ok but if its narrow single track or the weight on the bike is a problem you can put it on your shoulders instead. any ideas? my bike shop doesnt know about them.

ive been looking at Topeak MTX trunk pack DXP and am tempted. cant see that this one shoulder strap though is intended for anything other than carrying it to your b and b at the end of the day!any thoughts
