A Double Coast to Coast Ride.....2009

Ok,ok I know, what you are saying, here he's go's again. he said that last year and still waiting for a report and piccie's, well I did a short tour of Swaledale.

Early days, but good news is I'm planning a double coast to coast in September  Trouble is, deciding on a route. That is not the problem, problem is which one. I was going to do the Reiver's and Wheelwright ( via The Coach Road & Pooley Bridge) or C2C & Wheelwrights.

However I like the idea of doing a self make C2C with a return doing W2W to Whitby, anyway, plenty of time to think that one out.

hi agileman, how are your plans coming aong? im doing C2C with a bunch of fok mid august but didnt realise when i agreed to it that it was mostly tarmac. i fancy turning round and going back on another route. ive bought the Mountain bike routes uk book and have decided id be mad to do that in reverse alone. i am now looking at the reivers site, it says its waymarked so that might be a good option. any thoughts anyone please?

Well, L8. I kept changing mind about what route to do, I was going to do The Yorkshire Dales Cycle-Way. But that is only a 4 day job, so I kept to the original idea of doing the double Coast to Coast bike ride. I've always wanted to do it again, done it twice already.

I plan to start from Stockton on Tees, over to Teesdale and Alston. Then pick up the C2C route to Whitehaven, then back to Robin Hood's Bay via the Pennines (again) only to keep further south around Wensleydale. I did fancy doing Hardknott & Wynose Pass, but will decide on that near the time. But the double Coast to Coast it is.

The Reiver's is a good one and one I've done already. I may, maybe do the Reiver's has part of my double coast to coast ride, who knows. But if it's the Reiver's I'm going to do, then I need to return via the C2C to Sunderland. I've only a week to play with.
