Edinburgh To Newcastle C&C Reverse August Bank Holiday W/End

Hi,

So far there are 8, possibly 14, of us planning on cycling the reverse coasts and castle route from Edinburgh to Newcastle over the August Bank Holiday Weekend.

We have decided to do it in reverse as most of us are from Newcastle and we don't want to travel anymore once we finish.

The plan is to get transport up on the friday night, find a suitable campsite then on
Saturday ride until we get to about Kelso
Sunday kelso to Seahouses
Monday Seahouses to Newcastle Central Station

If anyone has done this ride before I would appreciate any advice on possible camp sites or transport infomation

Hi. If you can carry on to Coldstream on your first leg, you might find that there is still camping at the riverside there. Try contacting the tourist info office in Coldstream for confirmation. Good campsite at Melrose too. After Horncliffe, between Norham and Berwick, you might see warnings that the road is closed ahead (just before you cross the Union Suspension Bridge) but I was able to get thru ok during the first week of June. Enjoy!
