The road between Scales and Mungrisdale - NCN 71 ( mile 36.5 to 39) will be shut for repairs for 3 weeks from June 15th.

Cumbria Highways have made arrangements for pedestrians/dismounted cyclists to continue to use the route whilst works are ongoing, There may be periods of time when short delays may also be encountered if it is deemed unsafe to allow pedestrians/dismounted cyclists past the works.
Arrangements are being made to get signs erected in advance of the works area to inform the public of the above arrangements.

There is no satisfactory alternative route.
