Starting out on Monday 01/06 to do the Coast & Castles route. Does anyone know if the ferry is operating yet at Blyth? As I'll be camping, I'm taking my "lead sled" Saracen hybrid with its 700 x 38 tyres and wider/lower gears than my road bike to ease the load and therefore I'm planning on taking a leisurely 7 or 8 days. Gotta give the old knees some TLC too! Would be grateful for any up to date info on camping or the route in general.

Re Blyth Ferry.
Short answer NO - you will have to follow the existing convoluted route around the town.
The Connect2 project to re-instate the ferry (Amphibious bus) will be awhile yet.
