After months of altering the plan and with the York Cycle Show making my week short. I've decided to shelf my original Coast to Coast ride until September, when I have 8 days to do it.

Anyway, this is what I doing now in 5 days and not a double coast to coast, well almost, short of.

I'm going to cycle over to Swaledale and camp at Keld, next day camp in Patterdale, then over to the Pennines to camp at Sleightholme, heading to the Yorkshire Moors to camp at Kildale and last day is Whitby, then train home and get ready for the York Cycle Show for a long week-end.

Again, plans are getting altered. Same form of route, but my mate's mate is doing the Wheelwright's Coast to Coast from St. Bees to Robin Hood's Bay and I'm hoping to join him enroute about the 1/2 way point.

Then both of us go East to Robin Hood's Bay following the Wheelwright's route. This is the route I will take Stockton on Tees, Darlington, Barnard Castle, Tan Hill, Kirkby Stephen, Barras, Tan Hill, Keld, Grinton, Richmond, Brompton on Swale, Osmotherley, Scarth Wood Moor, Scugdale, Chopgate, Urra Moor, Burton Howe, Baysdale, Westerdale, Rosedale Head, Glaisdale Rigg, Egton Bridge, Grosmont, Foster Howes Rigg, Louven Howe, York Cross, Beacon Howes and finally Robin Hood's Bay.

The other half of the West route my mate is doing go's from St. Bees, Ennerdale, Black Sail Pass, Wasdale Head, Boot, Walna Scar Road, Coniston, Elterwater, Ambleside, Trout Beck, Kentmere, Mossdale, Shap, Crosby Ravenworth Moor, Kirkby Stephen and then he will join me for remainder of ride.

This will involve some off-road cycling as well as on-route, so should be good fun. I and mate are both camping and he is hoping to learn some tips from me. Only he is bivi-bagging, where's I'm using a tent.

Well, the double Coast to Coast is back on the cards. I will get it done for this year, trying to get a route sorted. Probably get a train to Newcastle and start from there and do the C2C and why not. Getting back to Whitby, don't know yet. Probably pick up the W2W to Whitby.

Or better still, do the Hadrians route, then do the C2C. Also pop into john's for a cuppa and a sandwich. Laughing Wink

Ps. I did'nt get to do the Wheelwright's, chickened out. Maybe next year Rolling Eyes

Probably looking like the 1st week in September, have to decide on day of travel - Sunday or Monday. Most important of all, is the route. Still on the drawing board and trying to sort one out. Although the Hadrians Wall looks good to Ravenglass, then could do the Hardknott Pass and onto the East coast from there.

I've only 8 weeks left to work one out.

I have 8 weeks to count-down, so I will have decide on given route before then. Hadrian's is looking good, probably start ride from the Central Station and head towards Once Brewed, which about 40 miles.
