road routes - 2days

Postby adarm on Sat Jun 21, 2008 10:54 pm

hey

I'm looking at doing the C2C on a dawes giro road bike I was wondering whether anyone could point me in the right direction for routes which can be done in under 2days for your average fitness male (not average fitness roadie!) Do you think you miss alot of the scenary out by doing the road versions rather than going down hadrians wall etc?

Thanks

Adam

the c2c can be done in 2 days by someone with moderate fitness, im not sure what you mean about the roman wall/ the c2c doesnt really come close.as for the bike i would have a go on 700 c wheels, its just a matter of being careful on a few sections.

I did it on my hybrid with 700 x 32 tyres in 3 days, but didnt start till about 2 on the 1st day & finished about 4.30 ish, about 6 hours on the second day & then less than six hours on the 3rd day. My fitness levels are moderate, but i reckon on a road bike i could easily do it in two days & most of the route is fine for a road bike
