be interested to see what people have to say on this - the missus needs a new bike as well and we have a similar amount of money to spend, also for the C2C.

I'm replying to posts on this forum and again, don't get any respond. I might be just my wasting good time on this forum, Why don't their get to Halfords and talk to the lads and get to know the score.

sorry to say, but I do work, hence not having time to browse the forum as often as I would.
I will take all comments/advice on board, and make a decision early next week.

I wish you good luck, Dawes Discovery 201 is a good buy for the money spent and would ideal for any budding future trips. I'm thinking of doing Lon Las Cymru next year - Challenge the Dragon

My mate done the C2C on a £150 halfords bike and we spent most of the time fixing it and sorting out the chain as it kept popping off!!
Wouldnt recommend getting a Halfords bike for the C2C - that's my opinion anyway!
