Well it takes us about an hour 30mins from Keswick to Greystroke, Via the A66, passing The Mill Inn. (we have taken this route twice in two years)

For someone who has not taken the alternative route, would you suggest sticking the route I know - the a66, or try the other route for a change? How much longer would the alternative route take? is it more off road than the normal a66 route

Time and energy depending, i would like to take this route, but would like to plan in this advance?!
