Been on Live Search map link and thought it might be better to take the North shore road of the Derwent Reservoir to Blanchland. Looks a canny ride.
If I get time I may pop up to Blanchland and pop in the Lord Crewe Arms and later in the Punch Bowl Inn

leave blanchland on b6306
turn left onto north shore to the end of resevoir and turn left
pass that track looking thing(am going up to see what that is)
follow roadupto t junction at minstracres
turn right to kiln pit hil, beware fast road
straight over x roads
then first left signposted stocksfield
at t junction turn right, look for old stone seat with inscription onto x roads
straight across along new ridley road
the main road bears to the right not as shown on local live hybrid map
down new ridley to angled t junction
turn right through mickley and follow prudhoe bypass to roundabout
first left and past adam and eve pub over railway and left into riverside park.
this is on hadrians ride
follow along edge of tyne and you cant go wrong.
hope this makes sense, lets know nearer the time and will meet you for ride.[color=red] dont know why all this went red? _________________ camping out on the edge of reality

Cheers, john. That route looks good, checked it on the Memory-Map and came to 28 miles and a nice easy finish to the Toon
Like I said, if you wanna join me for the ride. Just pm near the time or I can send you the details of dates.
Anyway, I owe you a pint or two for your trouble.
P.S. Some funny name places in that area, one farm is called Hairy Side
