My route has been taking some arranging. I couldn't get accomm too easily.

I get to Kendoon SYHA and over to a B+B in Longtown, Birdoswald YHA is closed on the date I wanted.

Then it's down to Grinton YHA via North Pennines and over to Whitby YHA, staying two nights, then over the North York Moors via Rosedale Chimney(!) and Sutton Bank to Ripon. I had intended getting a B+B in Pateley Bridge, but couldn't so instead I'm staying at The White Horse in Ripon.

From there over The Trough of Bowland to Goosnargh and down the A6 to Preston.

For the record, here's my complete itinerary:
Edinburgh SYHA
Pitlochry SYHA
Inverness SYHA
Lochcarron B+B for two days as I cycle over to Applecross and about ......

Over to Skye and back to Mallaig then Arisaig B+B
Oban SYHA
Down the Mull and over to Arran and Lochranza SYHA

Over from Broddick to Ardrossan and to Kendoon SYHA
Through SW Scotland to Longtown B+B
Grinton YHA
Whitby YHA and have a day off.
Ripon B+B
Near Preston at Sister in Law's
Wrexham at Big Sis's place
Llanberis YHA
Kings YHA
Kington YHA
Welsh Bicknor YHA
Street YHA

Home!

21 days 1400 miles, Highlands and Islands, Dumfries and Galloway, North Pennines, North York Moors, NW Wales including Snowdonia, Mid Wales including Brecon Beacons, Wye Valley, Severn Bridge, Mendips, Somerset Levels, Devon.

Great! You will need to let me know about dates, as I will need to book-in holidays at work.

I am due to leave Grinton YHA on Wed 28th May.

I'd better get some miles in, I've hardly been on the bike in the past couple of weeks. We had the builders in and I was labouring for them, then we had the gales, and now I've a rotten cold!

Anyway, hope to see you.

Regards and thanks,
Mick.

I've taken note of the date and will see the boss at work, if that date is available. If I get the go-ahead, great. I will book up Grinton Yha for Tues 27th and Whitby Yha for Wednesday 28th.
