There are crap, mate's got a Comp. More trouble than the ex-girlfriend. I would go for the Dawes Discovery 601, £400 in Spa Cycles.

ok then,why would chris boardman put his name to somthing thats crap?wasnt it him that made his own bike with bearings from washing machine fir a bottombracket?it dont seem to have braze ons for rack n mudguards which is a major plus for commuting. _________________ camping out on the edge of reality

The problem me mate had with the Boardman Comp was the BB and complained too flimsly to ride in strong winds. I think the bike is a over priced piece of S***. Still it is a good looking bike, but never judge the parcel by it's wrapper.
I have the Discovery 201 and been a brill bike, a great work horse. I would go for the 601 next time.

well ive read loads of reveiwsand they all praised it so went against yiur advice and picking it up tomorrow,wont be able to ride it quite yet though,oh and been back to docs today ,itaint piles its a abcess,anti biotics will sort it with luck. _________________ camping out on the edge of reality

That was Graham Orbree (the flying scotsman) but do agree with you that a top international cyclist like Boardman would not want to put his name to any old junk of a bike, I have not read any poor reviews of Boardman bikes in my cycle magazines.
