Parkhead Station

We stayed there last year on the second night of a 2 1/2 day c2c from Whitehaven to Tynemouth, and cannot recommend it highly enough.

We really felt welcome as cyclists, as everybody else who stayed there was on the c2c and the owners are keen cyclists themselves. The food was brilliant and the atmosphere very special. We will go back there next year when we do the c2c again :D

Hi,

I arrived at Parkhead Station hours late and more wet than a wet fish and was made to feel most welcome, had a lovely big steak, a beer and retired to bed shattered.
They put my bike away for me and had a drying room for all my gear.

Beware the hill leading up to Parkhead Station is very big and would not recommend it at the start of the day so once conquering the hill at the end of a days ride Parkhead is a ideal place to stop over and recover.

The rooms were very nice and clean,

Martyn......

I live very close to the parkhead station and have to say it is a very nice place, especially when it starts to rain.

The best and most friendly place to stay on the c2c. I always arrange at least one cycle trip each year which involves a stay here.

Fantastic Place

Just thought that I would add my comments on Parkhead Station too as we stayed there last week, 9 May 2008.

In the same way as another poster, my brother and I arrived late at night after a very tough day and received a fantastic welcome, hot food and a great place to stay for the night. They couldn't have been more helpful.
