Speaking to Graysie we have decided to take on the LETJOG C2C.

Date: Mid-2009
Riders: (at present) 3
Aids: 1 support driver - the best lad you'll ever meet! (Austin)
Needed: More riders, support vehicle

Mid 2009 (June), is almost 18 months away, but this will take a lot of planning. I'm happy to be part of that organising team, but would love another 2 or 3 people to join in with the organising/planning.

I have loads of ideas, but at the same time, loads of questions/advice that i need to ask and take on board.

Would we have enough people / contacts on here to round up a team of 10 riders (or more) for the event. What do people think would be a reasonable fundraising target to set (again, as a group of say 10). What about if we say 1p per mile, giving each sponsor the chance to donate upto £11.10?

Might be a good idea, if we post what background we have, (work, etc), and what contacts may be useful - however small, we shall use 'em somehow!

I have contacts in the printing/design business and am a dab-hand anyway at publicity (posters etc)

I've got a book by Simon Brown and his route is based on 14 days.
Day. 1 Land's End to Par....................56 miles
Day. 2 Par to Morehampton................55 miles
Day. 3 Morehampton to Bridgwater.....58 miles
Day. 4 Bridgwater to Stroud...............65 miles
Day. 5 Stroud to Ironbridge................74 miles
Day. 6 Ironbridge to Warrington..........62 miles
Day. 7 Warrington to Kirkby Lonsdale..64 miles
Day. 8 Kirkby Lonsdale to Greta..........89 miles
Day. 9 Greta to Cumnock...................73 miles
Day. 10 Cumnock to Ardlui...................86 miles
Day. 11 Ardlui to Spean Bridge.............67 miles
Day. 12 Spean Bridge to Dingwall..........63 miles
Day. 13 Dingwall to Helmsdale..............65 miles
Day. 14 Helmsdale to John o' Groats.....51 miles

A couple of longish days there, but start Saturday, could be finished on Friday.

i find using holidays companies you are restricted to times and stuff, where if you plan yourself yuo have more freedom and can plan better .. least you know whats what

Well, holiday company are not my cup of tea really. There just want to make a quick Bob out of you and I would rather cycle with a small group, not with a group of 30+ retired old farts.
