Cycle Isle of Man

Just got back from a long weekend in IoM cycling their signed routes & generally touring about, would definitely recommend it. There are 6 officially signed routes graded by difficulty most have plenty of hills & aren’t as easy as they look, there are also mountain bike courses but being a roadie I cant comment on them.
The routes are well signed as long as you circle in the direction they suggest, you need maps to go the other way, the roads are mostly very quiet & the views fantastic, loads of places to eat & drink, everyone very friendly & helpful, all in all an ideal weekend.
We also rode the TT course just to say we had, again well signed in the right direction, a very tough climb over Snafell, the one downside is you need to be alert to the traffic which goes very fast, a bit like Hartside but more extreme.
We traveled over on the Ferry, bikes go free so its fairly cheap, lots of accommodation available & everyone we met was more than happy to store the bikes safely.

Hi John, Yes I could happily cycle all day money allowing but retirement looks less & less likely, I'm pinning my hopes on a lottery win. By the time I've enough time to do all the rides I'd like to I'll be too old & decrepit to do them!
