I know the Youth Hostel in Edmundbyers lets you camp on their grounds. But I heard you can also on the shores of Derwent water, is there a camp-site as such.

I saw the information regarding the camping by Derwent Reservoir in the latest issue of Trail magazine. This is a 18 mile mtb route around Blanchland via Scaley, wonder if it means wild camping.

The best pub is The Punch Hole in Edmundbyers.

This one I will need to know, maybe in September. I will base myself at the hostel for a few days.

Bit further on, adding miles to the day from Blencow. Still I will keep that one in mind, if I need to get Newcastle via Rowland Gill, which will make a nice short ride.

About 17 miles to Newcastle.

John, one of the links is very long, pushing the page to wide.

Have you tried the url method, easy to do.

Example:
put name here

Keeps the link short
