c2c in a day ?

Postby barney on Thu Aug 27, 2009 12:49 pm

just come back from another enjoyable c2c trip with my wife.

to be honest she struggled on a lot of the hills so we ended up walking up them, i'm keen to have another crack on my own to see if i can get near to riding all the climbs.

that got me thinking, i've just bought a road bike (we did it on mtb's) and i'm up for a challenge, has anyone got any experiences of doing it in a day?

would you recommend any "tweeks" to the route to make it more suitable to road tyres or keep semi-slicks on? i'm thinking things like avoiding the forest section of the whinlatter pass etc.

any advice would be really appreciated.

ta.
