would it be wise to book acc in advance this time of the year..thinking next week from the 21 sept as g/f is not as strong cyclist like me and was thinking it may be better to she how she gets on..mileage wise

The choice of accom can become less after Hartside as the next 4 weeks are still very popular particularly as the days become shorter and the weather unpredictable. I would guess that you have allowed four days rather than three therefore book your accom in advance based on what you feel can comfortably be achieved and enjoyed....pick nice locations/accom and make the most of the stop-overs as well as the ride. It will take the pressure of both of you, afterall the purpose of the ride is to complete it with as many good memories as poss....
