Accommodation in Alston

Postby Il Furreto on Mon Feb 25, 2008 10:10 am

Hi All

Doing a customized Reivers/C2C route shortly and was wondering if anybody could recommend a place to stay in Alston?

Last time I did the C2C we stayed in an awful place with a miserable owner - really don't want that again!

Cheers

Don't know if this is too late for you, but I stayed in The Victoria Inn at Alston on my second night. The landlady, Tian, was very friendly & did a great breakfast.
They don't sell real ale, but Tian was very quick to recommend the best pub in the village for good beer :D
Try to avoid rooms at the front of the building though, as you may be woken early by trailers & lorries bouncing on the cobbles outside :?
